Anamika Film Review

Though all eyes seem to be watching TASHAN which comes next week, a suspense spy story is calmly making its way into theaters in one or two weeks hence. It is ANAMIKA - THE UNTOLD STORY. Movie is directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan who first found a little applause his way, courtesy AKSAR which was a hit in the theatres.

With a REBECCA muse to its plot, ANAMIKA seems to be a suspense performance in the offering. Is it right?

Ananth Mahadevan answers, "I would rather describe story and Anamika Songs as an obscurity than a suspense plot. There is a supernatural feel to the events with lots of things which would be left mysterious in the story. As a viewer you have to be continually occupied since the replies to the 'whats' and 'hows' would not be in the offering on the screen."

Talking about the spirit of the movie, Ananth comments, "The Movie Anamika is away from realms. There would be lots of gap which would be discovered in the Film Anamika."

On being asked if there would be a feel akin to that of classic BEES SAAL BAAD in the Hindi Anamika, Ananth replies in negative. He says, "I would state that the movie Anamika Lyrics corresponds more to the sort of a MAHAL or a MADHUMATI as compared with BEES SAAL BAAD. In the Songs Anamika you would detect a feeling of something paranormal in the background Music Anamika though the basis for the same would be exposed only as the plot expands."

Bengali artist Koena Mitra, who became a hot celebrity with the song Khullam Khulla in the movie Road, is now active in her new movie "Anamika". Like every other artist, she also has her list of fantasies and desires.

"I have a continual wish list. I would like directors to try out with me. I fancy playing strange characters. I would like to do action, crime stories, humorous ones and I'd love to do an archetypal girl-guy college-lover flick," the Bengali girl comments about her future.
